Forty8 By Mai Hammad

Forty8 is founded by Palestinian fashion designer Mai Hammad. The name itself is in remembrance of the Nakba, or catastrophe that ethnically cleansed approximately 800,000 Palestinians in 1948. As a tribute, some of Hammad's designs are named after the stolen and occupied cities in Palestine.

Forty8 is all about keeping Palestinian tradition and heritage alive with modern and timeless fashionable embroidery for both casual and evening wear.

All embroidered thobes are reused. Some of them are up to 50 years old and have so many stories behind them. What best way is there to commemorate your grandmother's thobe and to keep the beautiful embroidery alive other than in your everyday wear? All designs are handmade in Palestine with love.
